DUBAI: Irish singer Sinead O'Connor, who now goes by Shuhada Sadaqat after converting to Islam, performed at London’s Shepherd's Bush Empire on Monday.

The 53-year-old took to the stage wearing a plaid abaya over a pair of trousers and a black headscarf to belt out some of her biggest tunes such as “Nothing Compares 2 U” and “Troy.”

It’s not the first time that O’Connor, who revealed her affinity for Islam in 2018, has donned the hijab.

Back in September, the hitmaker appeared on Ireland’s “The Late Late Show” wearing a red abaya and matching crimson veil. During the show, the mother-of-four opened up about her decision to wear the hijab.

“I wear it when I feel like it. There’s no rules as such,” she stated. “I’m not required at my age to wear the hijab. I wear it because I like it.”

Monday’s performance comes just a few days after the Dubliner confirmed four huge concerts on the Emerald Isle next summer that will see her mesmerize audiences in Cork, Belfast, Galway and Dublin.

Indeed, the star set for a busy schedule in the coming months, with her tour kicking off in February in Canada, before taking her to the Netherlands, Croatia, Germany and Italy.
