The Veronicas singer defends LGBTQ education after 13-year-old's tragic death

Adolescence can be a tough time. It can be an even tougher time when who you are becomes the subject of ridicule and bullying.

At a rally on Saturday in Brisbane, one half of Australian music duo The Veronicas, Jess Origliasso posted a touching Instagram tribute to Tyrone Unsworth, a gay 13-year-old who tragically died by suicide after being bullied at school.

The rally was attended by hundreds, who came to honour Unsworth as well as show support for the threatened Safe Schools education program. 

The program is a non-compulsory education program for LGBTQ youth in Australia, teaching inclusivity and providing a safe environment for teens to ask questions and promote healthy development. Read more...
