A New York University professor is now the deputy head of India's federal bank and Indians are already obsessed with him.
After news broke Wednesday noon that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had appointed an economics professor, Viral Acharya, as its deputy governor, people began chattering on Twitter.
The 42-year-old Acharya, an alumni of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, taught Economics at NYU's Stern School of Business. He is also a research associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Read more...
