DUBAI: Veteran Lebanese singer Majida El-Roumi is set to perform at Egypt’s El-Qubba Palace on April 2.
It will be the historic venue’s first ever public concert since it was built in the mid-19th century.
The renowned soprano, famous for her hits “Kalimat,” “Ana Am Behlam” and “Sahrit Eid,” announced the news on her Instagram this week, writing to her fans: “We meet again.”
El-Roumi, who has been a UN FAO Goodwill Ambassador since 2001, performed her last concert before the coronavirus pandemic hit in January 2020 at the Abu Dhabi festival.
El-Qubba Palace is said to be the largest royal palace in Egypt. It was built by Khedive Ismail on the remains of an old house built by his father Ibrahim Pasha.
