DUBAI: Three months after the devastating explosion that shook Beirut on Aug. 4, fine jewelry house Bulgari has teamed up with its longtime partner Save the Children to launch the “B for Beirut” initiative this week with an intimate gala and dinner at Dubai’s Bulgari resort.

The evening, hosted by three-star Michelin chef Niko Romito, was an intimate gathering at his restaurant Il Ristorante – Niko Romito that brought together a number of regional stars wearing their glittering best, including Tunisian model Rym Breidy (nee Saidi).

Breidy, who is known for her role in Italian television series “Ciao Darwin,” chose a white sculptural dress from Fendi for the occasion. She paired the backless creation, which was plucked from the Italian brand’s Fall 2020 ready-to-wear collection, with a pair of matching white boots and a black purse also from Fendi.

Bulgari’s new fundraising project asked a handful of regional stars what they wish for all children. For Breidy, it’s “opportunity.” The actress, who appeared in the charity project’s campaign alongside her husband, Lebanese television presenter Wissam Breidy, and their two children, said that she was “proud to be part of B for Beirut fundraising project” and urged her 1.4 million Instagram followers to donate to the initiative to help support the victims of the Beirut blast.

Also at the gala were Lebanese television presenter Diala Makki and Lebanese blogger and designer Karen Wazen, among others.

For her part, Makki donned a red, figure-hugging printed dress from Alexandre Vauthier. Meanwhile, Wazen stunned in a drapey, emerald-colored creation by Lebanese couturier Nicolas Jebran.

“So happy to have a been a part of tonight’s fundraising with @bulgari and @savethechildren for Beirut,” said Wazen. “Dressed in head to toe Lebanese designers,” she added.

MBC TV anchor Mahira Abdelaziz was also among the guests at the intimate gathering. She opted for a shiny, dark green dress from Maison d'Angelann for the charitable occasion.

Until Nov. 19, the Bulgari Hotel and Resort Dubai will allocate a part of the revenues generated at Il Ristorante – Niko Romito to Save the Children Lebanon. Additionally, Bulgari will be donating funds to the charity and inviting the public to partner with them and donate as well.
