DUBAI: Shanina Shaik has revealed how she is preparing for the second period of lockdown in London. The Saudi-Pakistani-Lithuanian-Australian model took to her Instagram Stories to share her plans with her 2.1 million followers in advance of the upcoming lockdown, set to begin on Thursday.
Under the new restrictions, restaurants can only offer take-out, non-essential shops must close and people will only be able to leave home for a short list of reasons, including exercise.
The 29-year-old, who just returned to London from Cyprus, told her fans that while her weekend was fun, it’s time to get ready for another period of self-isolation.
“I’m just gearing up for this lockdown now in London,” she said to her followers in a clip posted on her Stories. “So today, I have so much to do because everything is going to be shut down.” For Shaik, this includes “getting all of the spa treatments done.”
The Melbourne-bred model also posted a snap of her freshly manicured nails, writing: “Grateful to get these done before everything shuts down.”
On her Instagram Stories, Shaik opened up about the impact that the coronavirus pandemic has had on her personal life. “If you guys don’t know, I actually live in the US and I can’t even go back,” she revealed. “And I don’t know when I’ll be able to go back to my home,” she added.
“Also, I’m unable to go back to Melbourne to see my family and I don’t know when I will be able to see them again. And I’m by myself here right now.”
She continued, “I know it's a really rough year for everybody else and there’s a lot going on, and people are losing their jobs and it’s completely unfair.”
Though she is unable to visit Melbourne at the moment, the model made sure to show some love to her home city by tuning into The Melbourne Cup. “I’m from Australia, it’s a big racing day,” she said while getting ready for the sporting event. “Couldn’t miss this big day!” she revealed.
The Victoria’s Secret model spent the earlier part of this year in Ibiza, where she was self-isolating with her reported new partner, London-based company director Seyed Payam Mirorabi.
