DUBAI: Kim Jones, the current artistic director of Dior Men, is set to join Fendi and design the Italian label’s haute couture, ready-to-wear and fur collections. He will remain at his post at Dior Men, thus putting the British designer at the creative helm of two major fashion labels under the LVMH umbrella.

It will be the designer’s first foray into womenswear and he will be working closely with Silvia Venturini Fendi, who will create the accessories and menswear collections at the prestigious Italian brand.

He will succeed the late Karl Lagerfeld, who had been designing womenswear collections for the label for over 50 years before his death in 2019.

“My warmest welcome to Kim, to whom I am bound by deep respect and friendship. I am looking forward to taking the Fendi universe to the next level with him,” said Venturini Fendi in an official press release. For his part, Jones said it was a “true honor” and a “huge privilege” to work across “two such prestigious houses.”

The Central Saint Martins graduate’s first women's collections for Fendi — for Fall 2021 — will debut on the Milan Fashion Week runway in February.
