DUBAI: Grammy-nominated Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello is heading to Dubai in the new year to perform alongside a host of international superstars at the RedFest DXB music festival.
Set to run from Feb. 15-16, Grammy award-winning British singer Jess Glynne will headline the festival’s first night of musical performances, while Cabello will take to the stage on the second day with her Latin-infused pop music.
The “Havana” singer just bagged her first-ever Grammy award nominations with Friday’s announcement that she is in the running for the best pop vocal album and best pop solo performance awards at Jan. 29’s show.
“I usually can’t shut up, but right now I’m speechless. Thank you, thank you, thank you,” she posted on Instagram after the announcement.
The star was previously a member of pop group Fifth Harmony before she broke out as a solo act with her hit song “Havana,” which she quickly followed up with the likes of “Never Be the Same” and “Consequences.”
She isn’t the only big name on the agenda from the US, however. Award-winning rapper Macklemore, who shot to fame with catchy anthem “Thrift Shop” in 2012, will also perform at the annual festival, which is now in its sixth year.
LA-based rapper and producer G-Eazy, who released smash hit “Him & I” with singer Halsey in 2017, will also entertain the crowd in Dubai on Feb. 15.
Glynne, who features on Grammy-winning 2014 tune “Rather Be,” will take to the stage with her powerful, distinctive sound on Feb. 15 and is likely to perform such radio favorites as “I’ll Be There” and “Hold My Hand.”
If that isn’t enough star power, DJs Jax Jones and DJ Snake will also play sets at the festival, with the former sure to get the crowd going with his 2016 hit “You Don’t Know Me.” France’s DJ Snake, meanwhile, is sure to perform his current chart-topper, “Taki Taki.” Here’s to hoping Selena Gomez, who features on the hit song, will also make an appearance.
Tickets range from $108 to $325, with a variety of package options available on redfestdxb.com.
