DUBAI: It’s official, Fashion Forward Dubai — one of the region’s leading style events — has been postponed indefinitely.
The event was to take place from Oct. 25 to 27, but organizers released a statement saying: “The creators and producers behind fashion Forward Dubai are committed to ensuring the next Fashion Forward experience is sustainable and addresses the needs of a rapidly evolving industry. For now, future editions of Fashion Forward Dubai, the bi-annual event, are postponed until further notice.”
Founded in 2013, Fashion Forward is a Dubai’s first platform to showcase regional and local designers. It offered regional designers an opportunity to show their work through runways and presentations and was supposed to be returning this month after being postponed in March.
However, there is another fashion event taking place this month, the first edition of Saudi Fashion week in Riyadh will be from Oct. 21 to 25. Organized by Princess Noura Bint Faisal Al-Saud, Saudi Fashion Week will host rising designers and will give them an opportunity to showcase their newest collections.
