After Saudi Arabia’s national football team secured its position at the opening game of Russia 2018 World Cup, Saudi FIFA 18 competitors have the opportunity to compete in the FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs and a chance to qualify for the FIFA eWorld Cup final later this year.
Sunday, March 25 marks the start of the qualifying rounds of GSA FIFA 18 Cup. The event will be Saudi Arabia’s first ever FIFA eWorld Cup qualifier tournament that will be held in Jeddah in April.
The winners of the tournament will qualify to the FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs in June 2018. In addition to a pool prize of $267,000.
Organized by the Saudi Arabian Federation for Electronic and intellectual Sports (SAFEIS), the GSA FIFA 18 Cup will start its online qualification rounds from March 25 through till April 19. Registration will be open to any of the resident of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE and Qatar.
The qualifying 64 players will then move on to the final rounds of tournament at the King Abdullah Sport City from the 24th and through to the 26th of April. On both Xbox and PlayStation, 32 Players on each console will battle for the titles. The Champion on each console will then move on to represent Saudi Arabia in the FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs, just one step away from the FIFA eWorld Cup.
SAFEIS is organizing this event as part of its efforts to grow the eSports community, and support Saudi talent in showcasing their skills on a global stage. The federation is also on a mission to present opportunities for all. The tournament will be open for all members of the community above the age of sixteen as per EA requirements.

“E Sports is open to everyone, the ultimate equalizer, male or female, big or small, anyone can step up to the challenge, anyone can win. This will be just the beginning. The Cup provides an opportunity for the video gaming community to showcase their skills by creating an arena where best come to shine.”
