DUBAI: Dubai-based DJ and influencer Tala Samman will entertain the crowd before Brit Award-winner Dua Lipa takes to the stage in Abu Dhabi on Saturday night.
The Chicago-born fashion star, who is originally Syrian, is a popular fashion and beauty blogger, with more than 120,000 followers on her Instagram account, @myfashdiary.
Samman, who regularly plays on the DJ circuit at fashion events and opening parties in Dubai, scored the enviable gig and will get the du Forum arena on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island in the mood before Dua Lipa takes to the stage.
It is the “New Rules” singer’s first solo appearance in the UAE and she is set to perform her hits “Be the One” and “IDGAF” before she heads to Auckland, New Zealand, for her next performance.
Winner of MTV Europe’s Best New Act award in 2017, and fresh off the stage at the 2018 Brit Awards where she won the Brit Award for British Breakthrough Act and the British Female Solo Artist award, Dua Lipa has been making a name for herself as the artist to watch.
Samman will open the show with a set list of popular songs, getting the excitable crowd ready for the big night.
The influencer and DJ graduated from the London College of Fashion in Fashion Media and Communication studies and has since gone on to become a well-known name on the Middle East’s fashion scene. Her style blog, Myfashdiary.com, was one of the first beauty and lifestyle blogs to be launched in the UAE and has been a guide for all things food, fashion and fun-related since 2009.
