DUBAI: She may be one of the world’s best-known superstars, but it seems that even Haifa Wehbe is not immune to less-than-perfect airline service.
The Lebanese singer posted a scathing message directed at Middle East Airlines on Sunday, claiming she had lost her luggage on a flight and adding that her requests for information were not being answered.
“This is not the first time I lose a bag while flying with Middle East Airlines (MEA), what is this chaos and confusion when dealing with you, we’ve been asking for seven days and no one is doing anything! @MEAAIRLIBAN,” the angry tweet read.
The Lebanon-based airline has yet to publically respond to Wehbe’s tweet.
The sultry singer is not the first celebrity to lose luggage on a flight, golf champion Rory McIlroy famously lost his clubs while flying United Airlines to the Irish Open in Dublin in 2014. Luckily, he received his kit before the tournament.
Fortunately, Wehbe’s response is mild when compared to the 2008 incident in which British supermodel Naomi Campbell was sentenced to 200 hours of community service after she assaulted two police officers during an expletive-filled case of “air rage” when she learned one of her bags had gone missing on a Los Angeles-bound British Airways flight.
For her part, Wehbe is no stranger to controversy and made headlines late last year after being banned from performing in Egypt for violating a contract between Producer Mohamed El-Sobky and herself while filming the movie “Thanya Wahda.”
