ABU DHABI: Ahead of the official release of his upcoming Bollywood blockbuster “Tiger Zinda Hai,” Indian icon Salman Khan gave an exclusive interview to UAE media company Twofour54 about the experience of filming in Abu Dhabi.
“It’s been such a pleasure filming here. I want to come back for my next film and then the other one,” he said. “You have the sea here. You have the desert here … You can shoot about any film here,” he added.
“The support given by the government has been phenomenal ... All of us, Katrina, myself, the whole crew and all the actors ... have given our best because there is nothing to worry about, all was taken care of,” Khan said.
“Tiger Zinda Hai” is the most anticipated Bollywood movie to be released at the end of 2017 and is Abu Dhabi’s longest feature film project to date. The film was shot in Abu Dhabi over a 65-day period with a 300-person international production team. It will be released in cinemas on Dec. 21.
It is set in Iraq for its most crucial chapter, which focuses on the real-life hostage case of 46 Indian nurses. Yash Raj Films and twofour54 left no stones unturned as they recreated Iraq in Abu Dhabi by building a 20,000-square-meter set on a backlot in the Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD), as well as filming on location.
