NuckleDu's Capcom Cup 2016 victory makes history

Du "NuckleDu" Dang officially became the first American to win the Capcom Cup tournament in Anaheim, Calif. on Saturday.

Dang, the 20-year-old Street Fighter V pro beat 32 other players for the title, including fellow countryman and tournament runner-up Ricki Ortiz.

Many top-ranked Street Fighter players were eliminated early in the tournament. Favorites like Seonwoo "RZR/Infiltration" Lee and Justin Wong — representing Korea and the U.S., respectively — didn't even proceed past the first round of matches.
