LONDON — The Foreign Office Twitter account wants us to know that Great Britain will soon be home to the world's longest three-tower cable-stayed bridge.
Measuring 2.7 km, Queensferry Crossing in Scotland is set to open in 2017.
This is not that bridge:
The bridge featured in the Foreign Office's tweet is a different bridge in Scotland that completed construction in 1890. And Forth Bridge, while undeniably a very fine bridge — a UNESCO world heritage site, in fact — is, alas, not the Queensferry Crossing, so people are confused as to why its likeness has been used.
