DUBAI: A social media post promoting a performance by Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren in Jeddah later this year was part of a leaked document that appears to have been a tentative proposal for an event, Arab News has learned. Responding to a request for clarification from Arab News, Makkah-based events, PR and marketing company Brackets, whose logo appeared on the post, said: “Unfortunately, it is not true that Armin Van Buuren is going to play in Saudi Arabia,” adding that the use of Brackets logo, and the logos of Virgin Megastore, King Abdullah Economic City, and the Kingdom’s General Entertainment Authority in “leaked materials published on social media sites” was unauthorized. Brackets did not immediately respond to further questions about the origin of the leaked document, but did say that “a concert is likely to be held soon” by Brackets in Saudi.
